Our group found that the part of the plant with the different characteristics are the leaves. We saw that the leaves varies from large to small also the leaves come in different colors. Some of the plant leaves where purple while others had pink leave stems with green leaves. The leaves on all the plants where different, we thought it was very interesting.
I think there is so much variation in the brassica oleracea from mutation and selective breeding. In certain areas the native people could have breed the plants in a specific way so they might grow faster. They could also have breed them so they would be more useful to the people. The plants also could have mutated to its native location. The plants could have grown slowly in a cold place so over a while the plants could have adapted to the climate. That could be the reasons for their different leave size.
The most similar part of the plant has to be the stems. Most of the stems are the exact same except for one plant. That one plant had like a ball at the base with leaves coming out of it. All the other plants had a straight  stems with leaves coming out of then.
For a breeder to make the plants more different the they already are they would have to do selective breeding. They would have to take the seeds out of the plant they like not out of the other ones. EX: i want the plant to be bigger, so you take the seeds out of the bigger plants only. You do that for a long period of time until you get what you want.
